ESG

What is ESG
ESG, the new rules of engagement for businesses. Short for Environmental, Social, and Governance, represents a comprehensive framework for evaluating a company's impact beyond just financial performance. It considers how a company interacts with the environment, society, and its own governance structures.
what esg means for aktrion

We see ESG as an opportunity to make Aktrion more sustainable—not only in terms of ecology but also in terms of our team and creating a fun place to work. In addition to social responsibilities, we aim to ensure the well-being of the Aktrion employees by promoting diversity, caring for their physical and mental health, and being involved with different local initiatives.

Our responsible investment policy reflects this ethos:

  • Whenever we collaborate we always take ESG policies into account as to make sure they align with ours.
  • We strive to minimise our global footprint by monitoring environmental impacts and climate-related risks.
  • We champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within our teams and portfolio companies.
  • We uphold human rights standards, and make sure our investments do not support exploitative practices.

ESG has become a priority for industrial operations, who now require sustainability reports and adherence to environmental and social criteria. At Aktrion, while our ESG efforts are confidential, we recognise the benefits:

  • Sustainable repair certifications enhance credibility.
  • Legal compliance positions us ahead of the competition.
  • ESG attracts new customers with higher expectations.
  • It fosters community engagement and talent retention.
  • A strong ESG focus drives reputation and growth while reducing costs.

Embracing ESG isn't just about compliance; it's an investment in sustainable growth and positive impact on our planet and communities.

Monitoring and Reporting

At Aktrion, we believe actions speak louder than words.

That's why we've established the ESG Info Exchange—a platform aimed at creating a unified approach to capturing and reporting ESG data. This initiative serves multiple purposes, including supporting our ESG strategy, communicating progress to stakeholders, facilitating bids, and meeting legislative requirements.

We understand that the journey towards sustainability begins with a single step. Here's our roadmap to success:

  • Establishing ESG as Business as Usual (BAU): Recognising that ESG is not a one-time project but an ongoing commitment integrated into our daily operations.
  • Developing Local Strategies: Tailoring our approach to each location, identifying existing practices, and aligning them with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Ecovadis assessments, regulations, and our ESG lead.
  • Promoting Alignment with Business Goals: Ensuring that our ESG efforts are in harmony with our overarching business objectives.
  • Building Awareness and Capability: Providing ESG awareness eLearning and senior leadership programs to educate and empower our teams.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly reviewing and challenging our ESG practices to drive progress and innovation.

Through these steps, we're not just talking about sustainability—we're actively working towards it, step by step.
